The "Meeting" in Jasper - BWFB Schedule !

Services just keep getting better and better at the Meeting every time we come together for worship.  We are growing thanks to everyone who keeps inviting folks( we been handing out Free Dinner passes like a madman:), cooking some great food and playing some awesome music!  You folks are the best !  Here is a good old song done by one of our own Claire Cochran  "Where the Roses Never Fade" http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1929414360285&oid=164637821806&comments  Great job Claire !
It won't be long and it looks like we will be moving again especially since we are running out of room, and folks that is a good thing.  When we do move here in a few weeks we should be able to seat around 150 and we really expect to see that number happen this year. We already average 60-70 folks a week.  One of our ministers has found a place with a kitchen, tables and chairs and plenty of room. The options of this room would be endless, its a great place with HVAC, no more fire building and no more fans LOL ! Only we will need a few volunteers to be part of the "setup" team to place the chairs and tables and then put them back in their closet after the service.  There are some dollies provided to make this task easier than hauling them out one at a time. There is a dumpster as well, no more hauling garbage home yay!!!! As far as our food goes, it gives us the option of running two lines down both sides of the serving tables.  Food should be served easier than before, plus we have a huge front porch option that could always be utilized for some type of outdoor service or even youth service.  We could even utilize the kitchen for somekind of youth class. Located in a high people volume area, almost downtown it is the idea spot for a weekly service of the Meeting!  More to come later!

BRUCE WEEKS FAMILY BAND THIS WEEK  (THE RESTAURANT TOUR ) :)

We will be at the Hardee's in Canton Ga with our good friend Andy Ledell (Phil and Kim White) this Wednesday night 6:30 p.m.  We want to invite each and everyone of you to help us out by coming out and supporting the work that Phil and Kim are providing in great Christian entertainment!
Don't forget the Meeting on Thursday in Jasper 424 Lower Dowda Mill Rd Jasper Ga 7:00 p.m.  for some food, fellowship, music, teaching and prayer. Bring some folks with you, you'll be glad you did !
We also will be at Doug's Place in Emerson with two sets of music starting about 6:45 or so Friday night.  Look for Doug's on the main street in Emerson Ga.  We always have an awesome time there and the folks have some awesome food and just good downhome atomsphere!  You'll be glad you came!

Last installment part 4 of Money Talks  (Free cds of this teaching are available for the asking)

This week will conclude our series on Money Talks and it has been eye opening to many folks as we have dealt with some practical thoughts on money, stewardship and the Bible.  This week we tie it all together and conclude this teaching.  We have a special guest speaker coming next week April 7th and then we will start back April 14th with another preaching series that I think will help alot of folks in some areas that God gives us the priviledge and opportunity to serve in.

Ya'll come see us!

Looking forward to serving with you at the Meeting, remember bring someone with you, its an honor to bring someone to church bible study with you!  We love you and can't wait to see yo face there ! :) love you folks,  bro bruce

Whooo doggy it was a feast ! The Meeting in Jasper !!!!!!!!!! LETS GROW !

Someone told me last night that the theme was Mexican for the food and man there was a bunch of it !  I just made me a great mixture of rice, deer meat and dipped some spoonfuls of hot sauce from the hot wing pot along with some fried taters and man o man was it good !!!!!!!!!!!    No wonder I can't lose any weight LOL !!!!!!!!!!  Good job folks you just keep getting better and better thanks to the leadership in the kitchen.
Music was great as it always is, doesn't matter what the song is that someone brings, you guys just knock it out and I'm really excited about all the upcoming musicians we have.  We got Alyssa Cantrell, Mackensie Wilson, Tammy Williford, Sarah Williford, playing along too ! Sarah got up on stage with us last night and did awesome ! Plus I hear we got some singers that have been sandbagging us LOL !  Lookout, you know who you are and what you got to do, get ready !!!!!!!!!
We ventured into Part 3 of Money Talks last night and had some fun laughing at ourselves and some of the crazy answers we got were hilarious.  Not sure some husbands survived the trip home without a few bruises though :)  But its all good and laughter is the best medicine !  Next week we will conclude the series and I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again !
Our altar service concluded the night with many coming up for prayer and we closed out giving praise to the Lord for all He has done for us.  I'm thankful that God has given us such an awesome group of folks made up from people of all kinds of backgrounds. We have several churches represented and some pastors as well.  I'm so grateful for the way everyone has jumped in to make this work.  Before long if we keep growing we will probably move again and we have our sights on another location and we are just waiting to see as the Lord moves.  Our building right now only seats about 60 and we been filling it up with folks for the past few weeks.  Lots of new folks have been coming !
Don't forget lets invite at least 3 people every week to join us.  I made up some free dinner passes and have been handing them out every chance I get.  If you would like to have some, let me know and I'll get them to you.
love each and everyone of you, can't wait till next time we are together, bro bruce.

Best church dinner and cooks this side of heaven ! The Meeting in Jasper, Georgia

This past week I was reminded by a dear brother that the ministry we have is kinda unique in its own way.  Since the very beginning food has been in the Meeting as a mainstay.  I'm always amazed at all the dishes that our cooks come up with everyweek.  Its like a family reunion on steroids LOL !  Here lately we been noticing that we just keep getting better and better everytime we meet. You know how I can tell, the cooler is almost if not completely empty at the end of the night and the garbage gets bigger and bigger :)  That just tells me that folks are really enjoying what we have going on and the cooks and the servers are doing such an awesome job!  I don't care if we have to go to two garbage cans and empty them twice in one night :)  It just tells me that we are growing and we are growing!  The place is getting filled up each and  every Thursday night with folks that are hungry not only for real food, but spiritual food as well.  I believe that out of all the places we have traveled, played and preached over the southeast I have not yet been to a church that has as good of a meal as we do!  Its just awesome, to say the least.
I'm glad that those Smith girls (Carol Sue, Ruth Ann, Jenny, Lee,  inlaws and outlaws) had to right idea from the very first meeting to serve up a good hot meal before the meeting.  It showed some wisdom, foresight and insight into knowing that more folks would come hear the Word of God if food was served.  Now a bunch more of you  have joined them in this quest and sometimes challenge to be the very best at what we do!

WHAT WE DO THE VERY BEST, BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE I KNOW OF !

I given some long hard thought and prayer to why we do the Meeting and what it is that we really do.  I have come to the conclusion that this dinner meal we serve is the best thing we have going. This is what we do the very best at the Meeting.  We don't really have the resources or space to do what other churches do.  We can't really have all the other ministries other churches have.  But we are doing something that I only know of the Methodist church doing and that is serving food. The difference is that we don't charge anything for the meal.  It is our gift and draw to get folks to come and hear the message of Christ and see their lives change.  I've watched many new folks come and eat and enjoy the service afterwards.  So you could say that our meal is the best evangelistic tool we have and our cooks are master craftsman at the art of making dishes.  Folks know it, word gets around and I for one am amazed that you guys pull it off everyweek.  You take ownership of that job and you are fulfilling the great commission of spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through your craft.

SOMEONE RECENTLY CAME UP WITH A GOOD IDEA WE THINK THAT WOULD ADD VALUE TO THE FOOD

Most of you know that I been asking everyone to encourage at least 3 people a week to come to the prayer meeting.
Well what if we could add a little twist to it and make up some free dinner passes and hand those out to at least 3 people a week, each of us could do that you think ?  Not only could we ask at least 3, but now we have give them a reason to come check us out.  An invitation to the best meal and friendly folks they will every meet.  I realize not everyone is comfortable inviting people to church, but this would be a way that you could invite folks by offering them something to come out for.  Hey if each of us just invited three a week anyway they are gonna eat, so I don't see any difference LOL !

GREATEST TOOL EVERY MADE IS AVAILABLE 24 HOURS A DAY TO THE CHURCH

Most of us have computers and few who don't, but if you didn't you wouldn't be reading this note on FB, Twitter, Blogspot LOL!  I'm gonna take the time to print up some free meal passes to hand out around Jasper kinda in a business card form.  I think its an awesome idea to draw folks in.  Some of you could print you some also, if you don't have a way to do it, then we'll either make them for you or send you a file of what they would say and look like.  We have an opportunity to go from a good church work to a GREAT church work and it is right in front of us.  The fields are white for harvest and we need to labor to bring in as many folks as we can.

I HAVE ALL THE CONFIDENCE IN THE WORLD, WE HAVE THE VERY BEST

I've also noticed here lately that we been getting alot of phone calls and pastors asking me about our ministry. On quite a few occasions I been ask "what is it that you are doing"? I've heard some say "we got to start doing something like that so we can get more folks to come to our church".  So my point is that there are churches that are watching us and some that want to model  exactly what it is that we are doing.  Now that is a vote of confidence that ought to make us take notice.  One preacher made the statement "never seen a church that loved each other more"  another one said " what you do is so unique" another said "that is the most and the best food I've seen anywhere" another made the statement recently " wow! what an anointed people".  You know what that tells me?  You my friends are the best bunch of folks any preacher could ever ask to minister to.  There is a term used in the business world called "organizational leadership"  what that means is that a group of people just take charge and figure out how to fix problems among themselves when one arises.  It means when something needs to get done that no one has to ask, you just jump in and fill the gap and do it.  Thats what makes us different we have real leaders that know how to make things happen in the kitchen, the music, the prayer, the cleanup etc.  You folks are an awesome team !  I'm so glad that God placed you in our path, we (I) needed you in our (my) life more than you will ever know !

MONEY TALKS Part 3

We will have our 3rd installment this week of Money Talks and will review some and go a little further with some practical Biblical principles for making our money go further.  I think we all could agree that we would like to save some money and make it go a little further.  We are recording it and the cd copies are free for the asking if anyone would like to have copies of Money Talks just ask us.

LETS KEEP DOING WHAT WE DO THE BEST,  FOOD, MUSIC AND PRAYER !

I don't think there is no question about it that these three things are our strongest values, hopefully teaching falls in there somewhere as the 4th.  We keep on doing what the Lord has blessed us to do and inviting folks to come and you will see our place grow out the door.  We are already looking at options for a bigger place to meet as we grow.  Right now we pretty well are packing the room on Thursdays so we always need to be sensitive to our next move.  I know God has His hand on us and will give us the right place.

SOMEONE SAID THAT PEOPLE ARE OUR GREATEST ASSET.  LET ME SAY THAT WE HAVE THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND THE RIGHT PEOPLE ARE THE GREATEST ASSET.

Its true that we have some awesome folks doing some awesome jobs with the cooking, music, prayer, evangelistically inviting folks to come out.  We value you folks more than you will ever know.  You take ownership in the Meeting and that makes quite a difference every Thursday as we meet.  I love each and every one of you,  bro bruce

LETS NOT FORGET THAT EACH OF US CAN ASK 3 PEOPLE TO COME AND VISIT THIS WEEK !

A challenging message Thursday night. The Meeting in Jasper

Want to thank all of you that came out Thursday night to "your" Meeting !  You folks just make my week, every week when we come together and you bring your talents and abilities to the table of worship.  The food table was loaded as our cooks always do an awesome job ! It looked like crockpot city :)  Carol Sue had to go to the hospital last night because they thought she was having a heart attack. We had some great organizational leadership take place by everyone jumping in to help cleanup. I checked in on her this morning, they were still running test.  She was ready to go home LOL
The musicians as always do such a wonderful job !  Frank and Hollie Lathery came and sang for us, as did my banjo student Walter Lopez and a couple of his friends came and did some gospel in spanish.  That was a treat !  Andy Ames, Mike Williford, Josh Hollifield, Lois Weeks, Katie Weeks and Deb Collett also knocked it out of the park!  I just get amazed every week that you folks can play anything.  Even our musicians in training  Sarah Williford and her mama Tammy are picking as well as Mackensie Wilson and all of these guys are doing an awesome job !  We missed our Claire, but she'll be back !
Its been a long time since I preached or taught a message that I felt so challenged to try to get across. I don't know what it was last night, the whiteboard that doesn't work so well with me, the mass exodus when Carol Sue got sick and had to be taken to the hospital or just the subject matter I was using?  I just felt so challenged that I thought "wow that was a trainwreck" .  But after listening to the recording, I reconsidered and thought that "wasn't that bad".  Maybe just a combination of things that happen last night LOL !  I am looking forward to the 3rd part and we will review the 1st and 2nd again and tie it all together.  Hopefully those that had to miss last night can be there next week and pick up on what they missed.  I really feel like this teaching could not come at a more opportune time.  So be sure to come next week and we will explore "MONEY TALKS" again !  Work is gonna pick up and it would really be a blessing to watch what the Lord will do with your substance when you trust Him......This teaching series is being recorded and made in cd form and they are free for the asking if you want to listen to them over again.
Hope you have a blessed weekend and I know that spring is here and it is beautiful outside!  What a great day to bless the Lord!  Looking forward to being with you next Thursday and exploring Money Talks Pt3 !
love all of you,  bro bruce

Invite 3 this week to the Meeting in Jasper. Part 2 "Money Talks" this week. The Meeting in Jasper this Thursday

We been having some very good services at the Meeting in Jasper every Thursday night and we are so thankful to have you taking part in the what God is doing in His church.  You are His hands, mouth, and feet as you help us take this gospel of Jesus Christ to the community in and around Jasper, Ga.  You and I are entrusted and priviledged to get to share our faith with those we come into contact with daily.  Will you take the time to invite at least 3 folks to come out and visit us on Thursday nights at the Meeting?  You will be glad you did and God greatly rewards those who follow His calling and you and I my friend have been called and commissioned to take a part in this great work or eternal values.
Thank you for all of you that have taken ownership and responsibility in the Meeting and have cooked, cleaned, built fires, played, sang, and have helped pray in the altar service.  Those of you that look out for the details that I can't always see from time to time.  Those of you who step up to the plate and make it a team effort to pull it off every week with great success, I am grateful and really appreciate you.  We are working on a (Country Steak and Gravy) meal for May.  We have a meal every week anyway, but sometimes we like to do something really special and several folks have gave the nod that would be a great idea.  Matter of a fact I think I can taste it just talking about it LOL !  Our last big wave of folks at a meal like that was about 110+ so that means at least 220 steaks plus a few.  We got to figure out all the legistics of getting all of them cooked, making a bunch of gravy and biscuits to boot.  But I know that our people are the best in the world at making things happen, so I'm not worried in the least.  You rock !

MONEY TALKS          "CRUCIAL TEACHING BECAUSE I BELIEVE WORK IS GONNA PICK UP FOR YOU"

This week  we will have another installment of Money Talks as we look at the Biblical view of Money and explore some practical applications of using money to glorify God in our lives. I certainly believe that God is gonna bless our folks this summer with more work, we been praying for it and God is faithfu.  Thats why I believe to be led to use this time as a t eaching tool to prepare to use our money a little wiser and glorify God at the same time.  Last week we broke out the white board first time in 12 years since I used it LOL ! But it worked pretty well as we used some diagrams to explain what we were talking about.  I got a phone call over the weekend, they said " bro weeks you would not believe how much that drawing those diagrams helped me understand ".  I'm glad, that really makes alot of sense, you can see it as well as hear it at the same time.  I'm gonna talk some more about our compasses in life, core values and how they relate to those compasses and assets and liabilities.  I just believe that God wants the best for our lives and surviving this economic recession is crucial to not allowing the enemy to harm our faith.  Will you join us this week ?  I'm looking with great anticipation to serve you with another helping of Money Talks.

DON'T FORGET TO BRING/INVITE SOME FOLKS TO COME THIS WEEK TO THE MEETING !

Aren't you glad to be a part of the excitement of seeing new faces show up every week at the Meeting ?  I am excited to watch what the Lord is doing in our lives as we come together each and every week.  I'm excited about the vision  A GROWING CHURCH COMMMUNITY, GROWING PEOPLE, CHANGING LIVES .  God is moving in great ways through the Meeting, through you, your part, your hands, your help.  God is putting lives back together, families back together, healing broken hearts and taking back what the enemy has stolen from you and I.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SERVING WITH YOU !  BRING SOME FOLKS, INVITE 3 THIS WEEK TO COME WITH YOU.

Lois and I love each and every one of you, bro bruce

Congratulations to Tristan and Jared who got married Saturday in front of over 300+ guest and followed by one of the best receptions I've ever seen with a full fledged BBQ, photo booth, dance floor etc.  Everyone pitched in and did an awesome job putting all this together !  There are plenty of pictures already on (mama Weeks) Lois Weeks FB page so check them out.  We are so happy to have the Tuttle family and Weeks family together after 7 years.  I know they are blessed.
